2022 August Meeting: Be Worthy Ambassadors of Peace – Abia Speaker to Women

The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji earlier today attended the Ibeku Egwu Asaa Development Association ( Women Wing, Home & Abroad ) 2022 Annual August Women Conference held at Ogurube Layout, Umuahia.

Speaking at the event with the theme “A Godly Woman in Time of Economic Challenges”, the Speaker congratulated the women on their special occasion which he described as a unifying event for the entire Ibeku women.

Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji further said that the importance of women in the society cannot be overemphasized and a testament to this truth is the fact that the world has continued to benefit immensely from the astute wisdom and perspective the women bring to the table.

Finally, the Speaker admonished them to be worthy ambassadors of peace in their respective homes and engender the virtues of uprightness and commitment towards the growth of Ibeku

He pledged to support the building project of the women and thereafter donated a vehicle to the Executives of the Association.

Wife of the Governor, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu, former First Lady of the State, Chief Mrs Mercy Odochi Orji (Osinaulomaranma), Members representing Umuahia South and Ikwuano State Constituencies respectively, Hon Jerry Uzosike and Hon Stanley Nwabuisi, Commissioner for Women Affairs, Deaconess Rose Urenta, Traditional Rulers Council in Ibeku led by HRM Eze Iheanyichukwu Ezeigbo (JP), former Deputy Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chidiebere Nwoke, Traditional Prime Minister of Ibeku Ancient Kingdom, High Chief Uche Akwukwuegbu (Bawas), former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Charles Ogbonnaya and a host of other dignitaries attended the event.
