Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal House of Representatives hopeful, Onyinyecchi Rufus-Obi has formally declared her intention to pursue her ambition under the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
Onyinye Rufus-Obi who was formally a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, expressed her displeasure at the decisions of her former party, the APC on zoning principles and described as an anathema for a particular zone to hold power for 16 years.
“Well I have seen that what they are doing APC is doing is undemocratic, you can’t just sit down there and appoint people anyhow. Somebody has being there for 16 years and she is being reappointed for another 4 years, making it 20 years. How can one Local government hold a particular position for 16 years? That is not the democracy we know, and for that reason I am leaving APC”.

On why she choose to join the race for the Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Obi said that she is for even development of the constituency as she will hit the ground running noting that what is good for the goose is good for the gander. She noted that she has what it takes to take her constituency to the next level. She said ” I an going to hit the ground running, so that as Isuikwuato is being developed, same is happening at Umunnecochi. I already have what it takes. Is it the business know how? I have it. Is it the economic sense. I have it. I have being in business, i have being developing business ideas. I have a heart that beats for the people. I have a heart of compassion”.
She maintained that she cannot be intimidated by any force as she is poised to ensure that her people gets what is due them.
She further stated that, she loves the incumbent reps and that, she has done well for the people of Umunneochi but, it’s time for her to leave the field and play on a higher level.
The DG of her campaign organization, Iheanacho Longlife among other stakeholders pledged their support for her election into the green Chambers from the primaries and the main election describing her as a shinning light of Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency.
