Hon Alphine Whyte has described the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike as a man who had done tremendously well in the state during a program tagged Stewardship with Solomon Nelson Braide (SNB) on RSTV on Thursday 3rd of June 2021 and monitored by profjaysblog.
Recall that Hon Alphine Whyte who was a former State Chairman of the Green Party of Nigeria with others from All Progressive Congress (APC) recently defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State sometimes last month.
Alphine Whyte said projects are not just concentrated only in Obio Akpor and Port Harcourt Local Government Areas as asserted by one of the callers during the Stewardship program but that there’s a decentralization of projects in the State in Wike’s tenure than any other time in the history of the state. He also stated that the Governor has lined up projects that will run intermediately between now till the end of July, profjaysblog gathered.
He further stated that “It is impossible for one Governor to satisfy or to be one hundred percent in his performance.”
While referring to another questions from some listeners, Hon Alphine Whyte said the Governor does not micro manage people but tries to create avenues for people to be self reliance. He further stated that the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has done tremendously well in the areas of Education, Infrastructure, Social Amenities, etc for the people of the state not minding that he’s in his second tenure just as other Governors do when they are in their second tenure in office.
When hes was asked about his take on where the next Governorship of Rivers State should go to in 2023,
“He said he is a loyal party man and that he plays according to the rules. He later said that the Governor has continuously informed or told everyone that no single man will superimpose a Governorship candidate on the state. “The Elders of the party will sit and come up with the right decision and i believe that the Elder are reasonable enough as I pray that God will give them the wisdom to do the right thing in selecting, and deciding where the next Governorship ticket will be zoned to.
