The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji Thursday flagged off the Free ICT Empowerment Training Programme being organised by Naprima Ideal Technologies Ltd under the sponsorship of the Abia Speaker.

While addressing the fully packed Bishop Anthony Nwedo Pastoral Centre, Umuahia, venue of the flag off, the Speaker said the Free ICT program was one of his several human capital development programmes under the auspices of his Direct Touch Initiative targeted at the youths of the State.

The Speaker who narrated how he eventually subscribed to sponsoring the ICT programme after assessing the professionalism and passion with which the organisers pursued the project, extolled the CEO of Naprima Ideal Technologies Ltd, Mr Ukaegbu Prince Mayor, for the idea which he said was in tandem with his vision for youths of the state.

While addressing the participants, the Speaker said they should take the programme seriously as ICT was now the new crude oil of the world and that it continues to advance thereby giving limitless opportunities to those who embrace it.

The Speaker used the opportunity to highlight several completed and ongoing projects he has embarked on in his immediate constituency and beyond and urged the people to expect more. He thereafter promised to empower participants who do well at the training after completion of the Programme.

Speaking earlier, the CEO of Naprima Ideal Technologies Ltd, Mr Ukaegbu Prince Mayor, thanked the Speaker for accepting to sponsor the training and promised that qualified facilitators are in place to give the best training to the participants.

Meanwhile, registration for the training programme is ongoing and will close on Friday, 23rd of April, 2021.
