Senator Ben Murray Bruce has accused the Muhammadu Buhari led government as being callous.
The lawmaker quoted a recent survey that claimed that Nigeria has overtaken Indian as the headquarters of extreme poverty.
Mr Bruce says it is wrong for the present administration to focus solely on ‘fighting’ senate president Bukola Saraki instead of fighting poverty.
Speaking via his twitter handle earlier, the federal lawmaker said the government hasn’t deemed it necessary to respond to the claims but finds enough time to ‘fight’ Saraki.
You can’t carry an elephant on your head and focus on killing an ant with your toe. The fact that Nigeria is the world’s headquarters for extreme poverty is the elephant on the President’s head. Saraki should not be his focus. His focus should be getting Nigerians out of poverty.
