Abia State Deputy Speaker Calls For Massive Sensitization Of HIV/AIDS In The State

The Deputy speaker, Abia State house of Assembly Rt.Hon. Cosmos Ndukwe, has called for a massive sensitization on the prevalence of HIV/AIDS and infant mortality rates

Rt Hon. Ndukwe speaking while receiving the project Director, Abia State Agency for the control of HIV/AIDS who was at the Assembly Complex on a sensitization visit said he had painstaking observed the programme’s of ABSACA adding that the intervention of the Agency will much be felt in the hinterland.

The Deputy Speaker also said the bill on stigmatization of persons living with HIV/AIDS is receiving accelerated hearing adding that the populace must not be afraid of revealing their status since it is not a death sentence.

Earlier in his presentation, the project Director, Abia State Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDS, Dr. Ajike Eme Kalu said the Agency I’d tirelessly working towards ensuring that the HIV/AIDS prevalence is drastically reduced, adding that the last survey indicates that the level of prevalence has dropped from 7% to 3.9% and saluted the partnership between the Agency and Vicar hope Foundation, a non Governmental organization that is impacting massively to the Healthcare delivery system in Abia State.
