His refusal to step down and obliged to their request has posed a lot of tension to his family and his campaign team as they can no longer walk freely in the community.
Mr Lawrence Daso alleged that the people are suspected cultist well known in the area and they have been going about intimidating people who are of different opinion and party with them.
Listen to Mr Lawrence Daso’s story:
On the 9th of June, 2018 some group of Scanevian Cult Group in Kalio Ama community came looking for me a home but I was not around. I had received some calls earlier before then that I should leave the house because some people were coming to kill me at home, but, that God I listen and left before they came. Then, on Sunday, I received calls from an unknown number demanding that I step down from the contest on or before 15th June, 2018 otherwise, they will come for my life. They had in the past threatened some persons like Chief Kingly Obudibo, Mr Igbikiowubo Stanley, Mr Sir White with others I may not remember right
now. If not for God, maybe I would have been a dead person by now and I wonder what people are trying to achieve in turning this election into a war zone for us in this community.
Aside Mr Lawrence Daso, some other contestants have also cried out about threats from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aspirants in Rivers State and wondered how safe and secure they could be and are also crying out to all the security agencies to come to their aids in protecting their lives and that of their family members.
