Sometimes last month, the news of rapist attacking Ovim Girls Secondary School in Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State broke out where it was said that some girls were raped and school properties damaged. Though the Principal of the School later debunked the rumour of the rape but acknowledged there was an attack on the school and the students.
Mr Emeka George Ikwuagwu, an aspirant of Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal House of Rep under Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) visited the school after the news broke out after which he promised to renovate the school and advised the school authorities to relocate the students to a safer place. As a man of his words, he has mobilized workers to start the renovation of the school as work is currently ongoing.
The State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu and his amiable wife also paid a visit to the school on the 31st of May, 2018 to access the level of damaged caused by the hoodlums and promised to donate a transformer and also make the pathways lit with electricity so as to give a clearer picture whenever an intruder is coming in.
